To ensure the comfort and security of our guests, Casa Stanley permits the use of security measures such as security cameras and noise monitoring devices, provided they are explicitly disclosed in the listing description and do not intrude on the privacy of others. These rules encompass various devices, including cameras, recording equipment, smart devices, and monitoring devices. 

What Casa Stanley Allows 

• Disclosed Devices Monitoring Public and Common Spaces: Devices that allow for surveillance or monitoring of exclusively public areas (e.g., a front door or a driveway) or common areas, provided they are explicitly identified and disclosed before a reservation, are permissible. Common areas do not encompass sleeping quarters or bathrooms. 

What Casa Stanley Does Not Allow 

• Hidden and Undisclosed Devices Monitoring Common Areas: Any device used for monitoring common areas must be conspicuously placed and disclosed within the listing description. 
• Devices Situated in or Monitoring Private Areas: Monitoring devices should never be positioned in private areas (e.g., bedrooms, bathrooms, or common spaces used for sleeping, such as a living room with a sofa bed).

Rules 

Rules concerning weapons 

Our Guidelines & Anticipations necessitate that all weapons located in a listing must be appropriately and securely stored. If a weapon is visible or discoverable by guests, it is mandatory to specify its presence in the house rules. Guests must also provide notice and obtain consent for any securely stored weapons before booking, and they should utilize the messaging feature for this purpose. 

If prior notice regarding securely stored weapons is not provided, and the guest or Casa Stanley chooses to cancel the reservation, we will permit cancellation without any penalties. 

Please be aware: All weapons within a listing must be securely stored, irrespective of whether they have been disclosed. Individuals who contravene this guideline may face suspension or removal from the platform. 

Definition of a Weapon 

Any device capable of projecting a projectile is categorized as a weapon. This encompasses, but is not restricted to, conventional firearms, air guns, self-defence or deterrent tools such as tasers or pepper spray, various types of ammunition, and imitation firearms. 

Approved Methods of Secure Storage 

Locked cases or cabinets and visible locking mechanisms are considered appropriate storage choices. Secured storage must ensure that only authorized individuals have access.

Ensuring Safety 

The journey of your Casa Stanley experience commences when you embark on an adventure, and this is only feasible when you have confidence in your safety. Consequently, we insist that you refrain from endangering or threatening others. For more details, please consult our guest safety policy. 

Avoiding Harm 

Activities such as physical or sexual assault, sexual abuse, sexual harassment, domestic violence, robbery, human trafficking, acts of violence, or holding someone against their will are strictly prohibited. We do not welcome members of dangerous organizations, including terrorist, organized criminal, and violent racist groups, within our community. Casa Stanley is dedicated to cooperating with law enforcement when appropriate and responding to valid law enforcement requests. 

We take issues like suicide, self-injury, eating disorders, and substance abuse very seriously and work to assist individuals in crisis. 

Threat Management 

You should not express an intention to cause harm through words or actions. We treat threats of self-harm as seriously as we do actual actions, and we may intervene if we become aware of such a threat. 

Avoiding Hazardous Situations 

It is vital not to store unsecured weapons, disease risks, or dangerous animals in your accommodation. Additionally, you should not create conditions that increase the risk of a fire or hinder escape during an emergency. 

Ensuring Security 

Members of our Casa Stanley community share their homes, neighbourhoods, and experiences. Whether you are hosting guests or staying as a guest, it is crucial to trust that you will be secure. Please respect the property, information, and personal belongings of others. 

Preventing Theft, Vandalism, or Extortion 

Taking property that does not belong to you, using someone’s property without permission, copying others’ keys or identity documents, damaging others’ property, overstaying in listings after your stay has concluded, or threatening others with negative ratings or other penalties to obtain compensation or benefits is strictly prohibited.

Respecting Privacy and Intellectual Property Rights 

Spying on others is not allowed, and cameras are only permissible in your accommodation if they are disclosed and visible. Cameras are never permitted in private areas such as bathrooms or sleeping areas. Unauthorized access to others’ accounts, or violations of their privacy, copyrights, or trademarks, is also prohibited. 

Ensuring Fairness 

The Casa Stanley community is as diverse as the world itself, and fairness is the cornerstone that binds us together, enabling trust, seamless integration into communities, and a genuine sense of belonging. 

Preventing Discriminatory Behavior or Hate Speech 

Respect for all individuals in every interaction is vital. Adherence to all relevant laws and not treating others differently based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, disability, or serious diseases is expected. Insults on these grounds are also prohibited.

Combatting Bullying or Harassment 

Sharing personal information to shame or blackmail others, targeting others with unwanted behavior, defaming others, or violating our review and content standards is not permitted. 

Respecting the Surrounding Community 

It is essential not to disrupt common spaces, treat neighbors as receptionists, create a pervasive nuisance for those around you, or persistently fail to respond to neighbor or community concerns. 

Ensuring Authenticity 

Authenticity is paramount in your Casa Stanley experiences, where delightful moments and unexpected adventures abound. This is rooted in shared expectations, transparent interactions, and accurate information. 

Truthfulness in Representation 

Providing false names or dates of birth, using listings for commercial purposes without your host’s approval, hosting events or parties without your host’s consent, maintaining duplicate accounts, or creating an account if you are under 18 are not allowed.

Accurate Space Representation 

Misrepresenting location information, availability, the type, nature, or details of your listing, substituting one listing for another, setting up fake or fraudulent listings, leaving fraudulent reviews, engaging in deceptive pricing, or failing to disclose hazards and habitability issues are against our policies.

Promoting Reliability 

Every Casa Stanley experience is unique, with each detail specific to a home, neighborhood, and host. Commitments within our community rely on trust in each other’s reliability, be it in timely communication, the condition of the home, or the expectations we establish. 

Providing Habitable Spaces 

Offering spaces with substandard cleanliness or undisclosed lack of running water or electricity is not allowed. Additionally, spaces that are not legitimate sleeping quarters (e.g., camping gear), not stationary for the duration of the stay (e.g., moving boats), or lack access to dedicated toilet facilities (e.g., directing guests to use public toilets) should be avoided. 

Honoring Commitments 

Unless there are extenuating circumstances, you should not cancel after the deadline set in the relevant cancellation policy. Furthermore, failing to enable check-in, refusing to pay, or violating your host’s house rules is discouraged. 

Being Responsive 

Persistently low ratings, being unresponsive during booking or throughout a stay, failing to provide an adequate point of contact for hosting, or refusing to participate in our resolution process should be avoided.
